What is Evidence-Based Psychotherapy?

Individual Psychotherapy

Evidence-based psychotherapy is an approach grounded in scientific research and clinical expertise, offering clients proven, effective treatments for a variety of mental health challenges. By using techniques and methods that have been rigorously tested and validated through clinical studies, evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure and other Exposure Therapies, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness-based approaches provide measurable results. This approach ensures that clients receive the highest standard of care, tailored to their unique needs, with a focus on achieving sustainable improvements in emotional well-being, coping skills, and overall mental health. With evidence-backed practices, individuals can feel confident that they are receiving treatments that are both effective and aligned with the latest psychological research. And it is important to note that one size does not fit all. There are many ways to adjust evidence-based principles to uniquely address your needs.

Couples Therapy

I provide Integrative Behavioral Couples Therapy (IBCT). Rigorous studies with many couples experiencing relationship distress, communications issues, and difficulties connecting with each other have demonstrated the effectiveness of IBCT. Moreover, I find that IBCT is tailorable to the specific issues each couple brings to therapy.
